10+ Years of Investing in Colorado Businesses

Shane Sherman and Lisa Tessarowicz began working together in 2022. With their combined 10+ years of lending experience and their mutual drive to invest in Colorado business owners, Shane and Lisa decided to further their impact by creating Good Capital.

Shane Sherman is the President of 18 Sierra Financial, a private business lending and financial consulting firm. After aiding businesses at the start of the Covid pandemic, he continued to raise capital through 18 Sierra which invested into Colorado businesses. His firm has also advised and led Private Equity due diligence, acquisitions, and integrations from $12M – $30M. Prior to his current role, he was a senior Leader at Danaher, a fortune 150 firm where he led one of Danaher’s North America business units.

His career started in the U.S. Military serving as an Army Green Beret, most of his career at Ft. Carson, Colorado Springs. He conducted multiple global deployments where he led fellow Green Berets and Allied soldiers. He currently serves on the Pikes Peak Hospice Board of Trustees, Colorado Springs Leadership Institute, a Colorado Governor’s Fellow, and former Adjunct Faculty at UCCS. Shane received his Bachelor of Science in Economics at Santa Clara University and his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Lisa Tessarowicz is a philanthropist, an investor, and cofounder of Epicentral Coworking. Epicentral Coworking has been in operation for over 11 years, occupies two premier downtown Colorado Springs locations, and boasts over 200 members. Additionally, Lisa works for her family office, participating in asset management, operations, and philanthropic initiatives, including leading the CALM Foundation. The CALM Foundation invests in Colorado Springs via grants to local organizations which help increase community attachment and small business loans to historically underinvested in business owners. Lisa also sits on the Board of Directors of 5Star Banks and serves as Co-Chair of the Directors Loan Committee.

Promoting Economic Development & Community Growth

With their aligned mission to promote economic development and community growth via small business lending, Shane and Lisa began co-lending in 2022. They have made loans in excess of $400,000 to businesses in southern Colorado in the last 12 months. Each loan has been made to a business owned by a woman, a person of color, and/or a veteran. To-date, their combined loan portfolio, with interest rates ranging from 2% to 15% (based on risk), has a 0% default rate. Cumulatively, they have made over $2,000,000 in loans in the last 3 years through private funds.
